Section 1: Before, During, and After Emergency Event
This plan provides high level information on what to do before, during, and after emergency events.
Section 2: Before Emergency Event
Be sure that assembly zones for evacuation and take shelter events are identified
Ensure each assembly zone has a bin equipped with emergency supplies if needed. These bins should be audited and replenished as needed.
Make sure the emergency action plan is updated
Identify the person who will direct emergency activities, and be sure all managers are trained in their roles during an emergency
Make sure all managers and employees are trained on how to respond during an emergency. This training can occur during safety meetings or stand-up meetings.
Ensure leaders know how to maintain active rosters for their departments at all times
Ensure that visitors and contractors are trained and can be accounted for during an event. It is the responsibility of the Company Managers/Owners to track employees on site.
Section 3: During Emergency Event
Follow the instructions of the manager and proceed to the evacuation/take shelter location
Contact 911 or emergency response personnel

Account for all personnel that are onsite
Establish communication with other leaders and facility personnel at the assembly zones
Section 4: After Emergency Event
Evaluate the building to ensure it is safe to return
Allow employees to return to the building once “All Clear” is given
Debrief with necessary personnel to gather all information pertinent to the event
Complete all necessary forms and upload them to the proper storage location.
Important Information: Emergency Action Plan Distribution
If directed by governmental regulations, the most recent and controlled copies of this Emergency Action Plan must be distributed via certified mail to the local fire department, local emergency response committee, and any other local emergency response agency or contractors that are expected to respond. Copies of the certified mail certificate must be maintained
Remember: The Company must ensure that all persons visiting (e.g. contractors and visitors) are informed of alarm and evacuation requirements of the plan.
