We are committed to providing a drug-free workplace. The use, possession, distribution, or sale of illegal drugs or alcohol on company property or while conducting company business is strictly prohibited.
Prohibited Conduct:
Substance Abuse: The use of illegal drugs, intoxicants, or controlled substances in the workplace is strictly forbidden.
Alcohol: While moderate alcohol consumption during personal time is a personal choice, being under the influence of alcohol during work hours is prohibited.
Prescription Medication: Employees using prescribed drugs must consult with their healthcare provider regarding the medication's impact on their fitness for duty and must inform their supervisor if there is any risk to safety or performance.
Drug Testing:
Pre-Employment Screening: All job applicants may undergo drug testing as part of the pre-employment process.
Random Testing: Employees may be selected at random for drug testing at any time.
For-Cause Testing: If an employee is suspected of violating the drug-free workplace policy, they may be tested for drugs or alcohol.
Post-Accident Testing: Drug and alcohol testing may be conducted after accidents or incidents to determine if substance abuse was a factor.
Employee Assistance:
Self-Referral: Employees who voluntarily seek help for substance abuse will be provided with resources and support.
Management Referral: Supervisors may refer employees to assistance programs if substance abuse is suspected.
Confidentiality:
Privacy: All information related to drug test results or employee participation in assistance programs will be kept confidential to the extent required by law.
Record Keeping: Records will be maintained in secure files with access limited to authorized personnel.
Disciplinary Action:
Violation: Employees found to be in violation of this policy may face disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Legal Action: The company may also take legal action against employees for violations that warrant such measures.
Policy Enforcement:
Training: All employees and supervisors will receive training on this policy and the importance of maintaining a drug-free workplace.
Responsibility: All employees are responsible for adhering to and supporting this policy.
Supervisors: Supervisors are responsible for enforcing this policy and reporting any suspected violations to Human Resources.
Acknowledgment
All team members at Paragon Logistics LLC are subject to this policy as part of their employment terms. Failure to comply with this policy can lead to disciplinary action, including termination.
Review and Updates:
This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as needed to comply with applicable laws and regulations. Employees will be notified of any changes to the policy.
